Krista Rowe is beginning her first year as coach of the Odessa College Wranglers Dance Team. Rowe began dancing at the age of three and at age eight began training at Bart Conner’s Gymnastics Academy in Norman, OK. The Academy team performed at the World’s Expedition Center in Seville, Spain during the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Rowe is a native of Oklahoma. Rowe was a member of the cross-country, indoor, and outdoor track teams at Colby Community College, in Colby, KS and the University of Oklahoma, in Norman, OK. Rowe was a two-time Academic All-American, as well as a two-time All-American in the 4X800 Relay while at Colby. In May 2004, Rowe completed her undergraduate studies at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK, earning a B.S. in Communications. In December of 2006, Rowe received her M.S. degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Sports and Exercise Science from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX. In December 2005, Rowe became a franchise owner with Jazzercise Incorporated, the number one dance-fitness franchise in the nation. Rowe opened her own Jazzercise location in Pampa, TX, in February 2006. Rowe was employed at Frank Phillips College in Borger, TX, as the Special Populations Coordinator before taking her position at Odessa College.
"This is such an exciting opportunity to be at Odessa College," Rowe said. “I have enjoyed dancing my entire life,” Rowe said. “I believe dancing lifts ones spirits, and makes people smile.”
