Head Softball Coach
Hometown: Cisco, TX |
Joel Prickett is beginning his seventh year as the Head Softball Coach of Odessa College. Coach Prickett came in as the third coach in OC softball history and after six seasons he and his teams own every record in the history of the program. Joel owns Odessa College softball’s only WJCAC title (2006), four Region V West championships, and four national tournament appearances (2005, 2006, 2009 & 2010). In his 5 seasons at Odessa College, he has sent numerous athletes to 4-year universities to play softball and to complete their four year degree.
In demanding excellence in the classroom as well as on the field, Coach Prickett’s overall team GPA in his six years as head coach is a 3.01 with multiple graduates over that same time span and countless others receiving their degree from 4-year institutions. It is something that he is very proud of and will continue to strive for excellence in that area.
He is a graduate of Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX where he received a Bachelors of Science degree in exercise and sports studies. He is a member of Mid-cities Church, NFCA, TJCSCA and is working to help organize a FCA huddle group on campus at Odessa College.
He is the son of the late Bob and Beth Prickett, brother to Sheila, Michelle, and Kevin, and proud uncle to five nieces, four nephews and three great nephews. |
