College
Career: Jon
started his college career with the Odessa Wranglers
in Odessa, Texas. After spending two years there, Jon
went on to finish his college career with Texas Christian
(TCU). At Odessa College, Jon, won both the 60-yard
dash and 300-yard dash at the JUCO indoor nationals
and also placed sixth in the JUCO National 100. Three
years later, Jon won gold in the 200-yard dash at the
World University Games.
Pro
Career: Jon has had a pro career
filled with nothing but achievements. Some of his
highlights of his pro career are: Olympic gold medallist
in the 4x100 meter relay team which was at Sydney,
Australia, Olympic silver medallist in the 4x100
meter relay, 3-time World 4x100 meter relay champion,
U.S. Outdoor 200 meter champion, and two-time U.S.
Indoor champion (60m). These are just a few of the
many medals and races that Jon has won on his way
to being one of the best sprinters of all-time.
Fun
Facts: When
Jon was born, he was born with spina bifida and the
doctor told his parents that he would never walk. Jon
sang back up with a Gospel band and help the band reach
a No. 1 album on the Billboard gospel chart. Jon only
wears one sock when he runs, a habit from his college
days when he broke his toe and ran with his foot taped.
