Bio

Ryan Robinson enters his first year as the Assistant Baseball Coach at Odessa College. 

Prior to his time with Odessa College, Robinson served as the Pitching Coach for Yakima Valley College in the 2025 season.

During his time there, Robinson flipped the performance of the pitching staff from 2024 at 30th to 2025 at 14th in ERA across the NWAC. While finishing 6th in strikeouts as a staff and having 1 freshman selected to All-Conference 2nd Team, Coach Robinson and Yakima went on to double their win total from the year prior to 24 wins with their first playoff appearance since 2022. 

Coach Robinson started his coaching career at UT Permian Basin as a Graduate Assistant Pitching Coach.

Robinson and UTPB went on to have the most wins in the school’s history since joining the Lone Star Conference at 35. Hosting a playoff series at home for the first time in school history, first playoff series win, first NCAA regional win and appearances in the LSC tournament championship and NCAA regional final. The UTPB pitching staff went on to have their best team stats in the school’s LSC era finishing; 1st in ERA, WHIP, Walks per nine, 2nd in walks, 3rd in Strikeouts per nine and breaking the school’s all time strikeout record with 394.

Robinson, the Southern California native, played his college baseball career at Los Angeles Harbor College, CSU East Bay and UT Permian Basin. He completed his MBA in Business Accounting from UTPB.
