Brown, Deanda named WJCAC Softball Players of the Week

The Western Junior College Athletic Conference has announced the Softball Players of the Week for the week of January 24-30.

Alyssa Deanda of Odessa College is the WJCAC Softball Position Player of the Week.

The freshman second baseman from Odessa, TX hit .545 for the week with 3 RBIs, 7 runs scored, 5 walks and 8 of 8 on stolen base attempts. She also turned two double plays defensively.

Aydenne Brown of Odessa College is the WJCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.

The freshman righthander from Edmonton, Alberta went 2-0 for the week. In 12 innings, she allowed just 3 earned runs on 6 hits with 24 strikeouts. She pitched a no-hitter in her first collegiate start.
