Women's Cross Country Claims Region 5 Championship
The Odessa College Women's Cross Country Team won the Region 5 Championship this past Saturday at Harry McAdams Park in Hobbs, NM.
The Wranglers had all five scoring runners finish in the Top 12 to total 32 points and win the event. El Paso placed second with 56 points and NMJC finished third with 71 points.
Odessa moved up two places from last years third place finish.
Individually, the Wranglers placed five runners in the Top 12. Milicent Wafula was second (17:14.50), Salma Saddoug fifth (18:05.70), Lilian Mateo sixth (18:14.40), Roukia Mouici seventh (18:20.80), and Kaydeen Johnson was twelfth (18:46.30).
The Wranglers will now begin preparation for the 2025 NJCAA D1 Cross Country Championship in Fort Dodge, IA. The race will take place at Lakeside Golf Course on November 8th.
