OC Cross Country Ready to Run
The new fall season of Wrangler Cross Country is upon us. The OC runners will take off to Lubbock, TX this Friday, August 28th to compete in their opening meet at Lubbock Christian University. The squad is looking pretty good, and head coach, Cate Walsh couldn't be more proud. "I truly feel this group has done a lot in the little time we've been together. We're pretty much a new team, with a lot of new and young runners, but I see a lot of determination and hard work happening each and every day." The squad consists of 14 total runners; seven females and seven males.
Jacob Moore, a new freshman from Kingwood, TX siad, "I feel like this team has a lot of potential and I look forward to seeing us all improve throughout the season." Another local freshman, Adrian Villareal from Odessa High School, has a more personal approach to his new team, stating that, "being apart of this team has lifted me and made me a better person. It's like a family, and with their love and support I can do great things, not only for myself but for them and everyone at home. For this, I am thankful."
