Cross Country starts season strong at ACU Naimadu Classic.
The Wrangler Cross Country team had a strong start to the 2025 season last Friday in Abilene, TX at the ACU Naimadu Classic.
Both teams had top five finishes, the Wrangler women finished first and the men placed third.
The Wrangler women, ranked #1 in the NJCAA pre-season poll scored 24 points to claim first place. The top four runners finished, first, second, third, and fifth.
Milicent Wafula won the race, followed closely by Lilian Torrez and Salma Saddoug, and Kaydeen Johnson finished fifth.
On the Men's side, Odessa finished with 75 points. Justus Kiplagat was the individual champion winning by over seven seconds. Thomas Kubala was the next highest finisher for the Wranglers in 11th place.
Odessa will now prepare for the Texas Tech Open on September 12th in Lubbock, TX.
