Odessa College women's and men's basketball teams will host South Plains College in Western Junior College Athletic Conference play tomorrow night at the OC Sports Center.
The games are open to the public and employees are encouraged to watch the game live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/odessacollege/. If you plan to attend the game in person, please follow CDC guidelines to mitigate the spread of COVID-19: wear a mask, keep your distance and wash your hands.
Thursday's game will also be athletic academic recognition night. During halftime of both games, 124 student athletes will be honored for making the Fall 2021 WJCAC All-Academic Team. The WJCAC All-Academic Teams are made up of student-athletes who achieved a 3.25 gpa or above during the Fall 2021 semester. This fall, 46 Wranglers had a perfect 4.0 gpa.
The women's game tips off at 5:45pm and the men's game will follow at 7:30pm.
The Wrangler women are 4-13 overall and 1-4 in WJCAC play, while South Plains is 11-5 and 5-0. The Lady Texans are currently in first place in the conference standings.
The men's game will feature the top two teams in the WJCAC standings. OC is 15-5 overall and 6-0 in conference play. South Plains is 11-7 and 5-1 in the conference. Odessa is currently in first place in the WJCAC standings and South Plains is in second place.
