The Top 10 WJCAC Conference opener was full of drama on Wednesday night inside the OC Sports Center as #4 Odessa College battled #10 New Mexico Military. The Wranglers would prevail in a reverse sweep winning the match in five sets.
Sets 1 (25-23 NMMI) & 2 (25-20 NMMI) were tightly contested with NMMI pulling away late in both sets to take a 2-0 lead heading to the third set.
From midway through the third set, Odessa would take the momentum and run with it. Odessa won set 3 (25-21 OC) to extend the match to a fourth set.
Sets 4 (25-18 OC) and 5 (15-9 OC) were dominated by the Wranglers as they jumped out to an early lead in both the fourth and fifth sets claiming the match in a five set, reverse sweep victory.
With the win, Odessa moves to 16-1/1-0 WJCAC.
